Stay on Topic with Titles
This mini-lesson demonstrates how writers should only include details in the title that follow the topic they’re writing about. Using a box of cereal, Kristina shows students how a reader expects to read only details that pertain to the title of a piece just like a cereal eater expects the box to be filled with only one type of cereal. This mini-lesson was originally presented in a 3rd-grade classroom.
